Inscribed Armenian Karabagh “Astghahavq” Star Bird rug. Dated 1896. Just an explosion of colors, full-pile, 7'6" x 4‘7”:

 

In the rug trade these are called Akstafa rugs which can refer to the Star bird in Armenian as well as the river in northern Armenia’s Tavush province which runs along Dilijan and Ijevan. But not to the village of Akstafa which according to Ian Bennett, expert on Oriental Carpets and author of many books, where rugs were never woven.
