Late 18th or early 19th C Armenian Sivas rug. Many of the motifs we see here like the “lobbed crosses” at the bottom of the rug and “S’ (dragon) symbols later appear commonly on Caucasian rugs.
Why? Because design migrated between Ottoman Armenia and Russian Armenia.
