Colourful 1909 Armenian Karabagh rug with an Armenian inscription. I believe this is a wedding rug because the inscription in Armenian has two initials and “1909 June” which I assume is the wedding date. The almonds (not botehs in Armenian culture) with flowers inside symbolize fertility. The brown background has oxidized leaving the almonds to pop out of the background giving a 3D effect.
