An Artsakh beauty. Inscribed “1947 Sonya Shaghyan” Սոնյա Շաղգյան (երկաթագիր/iron letters) in mixed Armenian and Russian letters. 278 cm x 144 cm.

The design consists of three mirroring serrated hooked medallions (Dragons) accompanied by a variety of geometric tribal and floral motifs as well as different animals. The main border is decorated with polychrome 8-sided stars —a contemporary version of the Jerusalem Cross border.

This rug has an array of both soft pastel colors and strong bold colors creating an extremely diverse color palette that makes this rug stand out in any setting that it will be used in. It has been preserved in overall excellent condition and is ready to be used and enjoyed.
