If it wasn’t for the Armenian inscription this carpet would have been attributed to the Shahsavan. Many Armenian weavings especially bags and kilims are misattributed to the Shahsavan because there has always has been an organized effort to erase Armenian weaving culture from Anatolia and the Caucasus.
