Armenians wove throughout Anatolia, the Caucasus and even Iran. Up to 200,000 Armenians from Nakhichevan and Yerevan were forcibly relocated to Iran by the Shah Abbas in 1604 AD. This rug is from the Charmahal village area in the Bushehr Province. A very beautiful and unusual rug that combines Armenian design elements with those of the region. The Armenian inscription reads “Hovsep and Shaghig 1889”. 3'9" x 7'3"
